Kornmarkt

The Kornmarkt is distinguished by the Muttergottesbrunnen, a fountain featuring a sculpted figure of the Virgin Mary that stands at its center. This square in the Old Town, or Altstadt, originated in the sixteenth century after the city council demolished the thirteenth-century hospital that previously occupied the site to clear space for a new market.
