The Philosophengärtchen, or little philosophers' garden, sits as a sun-drenched terrace on the southern slope of the Heiligenberg. Because this spot faces south and remains sheltered from harsh winds, it experiences a microclimate significantly warmer than the surrounding area, allowing exotic plants like almond, lemon, and ginkgo trees to thrive. A low stone balustrade frames the edge of the platform, providing a direct view across the Neckar River toward the Heidelberg Old Town and the castle ruins on the opposite bank.
