Eschenheimer Turm

The Eschenheimer Turm is a forty-seven-meter-tall gate tower defined by its round stone shaft, a prominent projecting battlement, and a steep spire crowned by four smaller side turrets. Completed between fourteen twenty-six and fourteen twenty-eight by the architect Madern Gerthener, it was once a primary gateway in the massive medieval fortification system that protected Frankfurt with nearly sixty towers.
