"Euro-Skulptur" von Ottmar Hörl

The fourteen-meter-tall Euro-Skulptur stands at Willy-Brandt-Platz, recognizable by its massive blue euro symbol encircled by twelve yellow stars. Designed by artist Ottmar Hörl, this fifty-ton structure was installed for the introduction of the euro currency, with its lights first switched on at midnight to mark the arrival of the new year in two thousand two. It occupies the space in front of the Eurotower, which served as the headquarters for the European Central Bank.
