Römerberg

The Römerberg is a historic square in Frankfurt defined by three stepped-gable facades known as the Römer, which have functioned as the city hall since fourteen oh five. This square served as the center of public life for centuries, hosting knightly tournaments, trade fairs, and the coronation banquets of Holy Roman Emperors. In the sixteen hundreds, it was called the most beautiful square in the Holy Roman Empire.
