Blau-Gold Haus

The Blau-Gold Haus stands out for its glass and aluminum curtain wall, which features distinctive vertical luminous strips. Built in nineteen fifty-two by architect Wilhelm Koep, this steel-skeleton structure sits near the Cologne Cathedral. It was originally commissioned by the perfume manufacturer forty-seven eleven as a commercial building. The design incorporated a curved storefront and brass-accented supports, with indirect lighting that cast a signature blue-and-gold glow across the building after dark.
