Király Thermal Bath

The Király Thermal Bath is recognizable by its historic stone structure and a distinctive octagonal dome that features small holes for light. Built in the sixteenth century during the Ottoman occupation, the bathhouse was commissioned by the Pasha of Buda, Arslan, and finished by his successor, Sokoli Mustafa. Its location was a strategic decision; unlike other baths in the city, it sits within the medieval walls of the castle. By piping water in from the nearby Lukács springs, the Turks ensured that the garrison could maintain their bathing rituals even while the city was under siege.
