Higginbothams

Higginbothams stands as a striking Palladian-style building with a white facade that contrasts sharply against the modern infrastructure of Mahatma Gandhi Road. Constructed in eighteen ninety-seven, the structure predates the store’s arrival at this specific location by eight years. It originally served the city during a period of colonial expansion, and by nineteen oh five, the sign for Messrs Higginbotham and Company was mounted above the entrance, marking the establishment of the oldest bookstore currently operating in Bengaluru.
