The Biere Club

The Biere Club is a three-story building on Vittal Mallya Road identified by its distinctive wooden facade. Opening in May two thousand eleven, it holds the distinction of being the first microbrewery in Bengaluru and all of Southern India. Before its establishment, the city’s beer scene was dominated by commercial lagers, but founders Meenakshi and Arvind Raju spent three years navigating licensing and policy challenges to change that. They eventually secured the permissions necessary to brew beer on-site, a process that required them to work directly with the government to bypass standard distribution centers.
