The Kolkata Town Hall is defined by its grand front portico supported by massive, towering Doric columns. This two-story building, designed in a neoclassical Palladian style, was constructed between eighteen oh seven and eighteen fourteen. It was funded by a public lottery and originally created to serve as a venue for European social gatherings, including balls and formal receptions.
