Currency Building

The Currency Building is a three-story Italianate structure identified by its ornate, three-part wrought iron entrance gate and Venetian windows. Built in eighteen thirty-three to house the Calcutta branch of the Agra Bank, it later served as the Office of the Issue and Exchange of Government Currency and housed the first central office of the Reserve Bank of India between nineteen thirty-five and nineteen thirty-seven.
