Canal City Hakata is defined by its vibrant, curving architecture and a one hundred and eighty meter artificial canal that winds directly through the center of the complex. Opened in nineteen ninety-six, this massive, multi-level development is built on the site of a former clothing factory and is designed as an oasis with colorful, layered facades that intentionally avoid right angles.
