Hiroshima Prefectural Art Museum

The Hiroshima Prefectural Art Museum is a four-story reinforced concrete building with a glass facade that opens directly onto the historic Shukkeien Garden. Opened in nineteen sixty-eight, it was the first public art museum in the Chugoku region. After an extensive reconstruction completed in nineteen ninety-six, the museum gained its present open layout, featuring an atrium that spans the first three floors to provide a direct, elevated view of the neighboring greenery.
