The Nejjarine Museum is housed in a three-story fondouk, a traditional merchant inn built in seventeen eleven by Sultan Moulay Ismail. You can identify the structure by its grand entrance, which features a massive door and intricate cedar woodwork that reflects the artistry of the carpenters' guild that once operated in the surrounding square. For centuries, the ground level served as a bustling warehouse for traders, while the upper levels provided rooms for travelers.
