Jnan Sbil

Jnan Sbil is recognizable by the thick, high defensive walls that hem in its seven and a half hectares, creating a sharp contrast between the dense, labyrinthine medina outside and the open, lush greenery within. This public garden sits in the corridor between Fes el-Bali and Fes el-Jdid, a space created in the nineteenth century when Sultan Moulay Hassan the First ordered the construction of walls to connect the two sections of the old city.
