Place Seffarine

Place Seffarine is recognizable by the rhythmic, metallic ringing of hammers against copper and brass that has echoed here for centuries. Named for the coppersmiths, or saffarin, who maintain their workshops in this open square, it remains a center for traditional metalwork where artisans still shape trays, teapots, and large cauldrons as they have since at least the sixteenth century.
