Dar al-Magana (Water Clock)

Dar al-Magana is distinguished by a row of thirteen wooden beams protruding from its façade, positioned above twelve arched windows. Located on the busy Talaa Kebira street, this fourteen-century structure once housed a complex, weight-powered hydraulic clock. Built by the Marinid Sultan Abu Inan Faris and completed on May sixth, thirteen fifty-seven, the building served to regulate the prayer times for the adjacent Bou Inania Madrasa.
