Bab Chorfa is a monumental gate distinguished by two large, flanking towers and a pointed archway detailed with geometric brickwork. It serves as the primary and only entrance to the Kasbah An-Nouar, a self-contained citadel located at the western edge of Fes el-Bali. While the original fortifications date back to the twelfth-century Almohad period, the current form of the gate reflects extensive restorations carried out during the Alawi era.
