The Hofje Floris van Dam is recognized by its long, low-slung facade along the Lange Beestenmarkt, marked by a series of windows with six- and nine-pane sash frames and a roof featuring dormers with decorative frontons. This complex is a historic residential courtyard, or hofje, originally founded through a bequest from Floris van Dam, who served as the bailiff of The Hague from fifteen fifty-three to fifteen sixty-three.
