Grodzka Street is defined by its stone townhouses and the sequence of churches that break the rhythm of its shops and cafes. It functions as the southern leg of the Royal Route, a path that has carried kings, bishops, and funeral processions toward Wawel Hill for centuries. The street predates the thirteen-fifty-seven city charter and originally served as a vital trade route for salt coming from the mines in Wieliczka.
