St. Florian's Gate

St. Florian's Gate stands as a thirty-four-meter-tall stone tower topped with a distinctively heavy, dark-colored Baroque roof. Built around the fourteenth century, it was once the primary northern entrance to the walled city of Kraków. While the city originally featured eight such gates, this is the only one that survived the nineteenth-century demolition of the medieval fortifications.
