Wilgenhof Men's Residence sits at the corner of Victoria and Ryneveld streets, identifiable by its three-story Georgian Revival structure with steel window casements and a rusticated plinth. Established in nineteen oh three, it predates the official founding of Stellenbosch University. The residence occupies land once used for slave quarters and a distillery, and it has long functioned as a home for male students, including figures like the rugby player Danie Craven and activist Beyers Naudé.
