The Black Lion in Brighton is a large, single-room pub defined by its stripped-back interior and an expansive garden with heated booths. It stands as a nineteen seventy-four reconstruction that commemorates a brewery established on this site in fifteen forty-six. That original enterprise was started by Dirick Carver, a Flemish immigrant who operated the neighboring Cricketers pub.
