Regency Square is defined by its three-sided layout of sixty-nine houses that open toward the sea, a configuration that creates a deliberate frame for the English Channel. Constructed between eighteen eighteen and eighteen thirty-two by developer Joshua Hanson, this residential project transformed a plot of land known as Belle Vue Field, which previously served as a site for military camps and traveling fairs, into a prestigious address for the social elite.
