Plaza de California

Fisherman's Wharf is a district defined by the transition from a working port to a tourist destination. At the heart of this area, specifically on the site where the longtime Alioto's Restaurant stood for nearly a century, a project is underway to convert the former restaurant grounds into a new public plaza. This development is part of a larger initiative by the Port of San Francisco to reinvigorate the waterfront by replacing single-use buildings with open, accessible space.
