Statue of Robert Burns (San Francisco)

The statue of Scottish poet Robert Burns stands near John F. Kennedy Drive, a bronze figure holding folded papers. It reaches nearly ten feet in height and rests upon a nine-foot pedestal of Californian granite. Commissioned by the Scottish Citizens Committee, the work was modeled by sculptor Melvin Earl Cummings, whose own grandparents were born in Scotland.
