Huckleberry House is a Victorian building in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood that gained national attention as the first shelter in the United States specifically for runaway youth. It opened its doors on June eighteenth, nineteen sixty-seven, to provide support for the thousands of young people arriving in San Francisco during the Summer of Love.
