The Mexico Liberty Bell in Mission Dolores Park is a large bronze bell suspended within a formal, landscaped plaza. It is a replica of the original bell rung by Father Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla in the town of Dolores, Mexico, on September sixteen, eighteen ten. That historic tolling launched the movement for Mexican independence from Spanish rule.
