Beyond The Flesh

Beyond The Flesh is a project that aims to preserve tattoos from individuals after their death for public display. It is the vision of tattoo artist Peter Bogdanov, who draws on his experience operating the shop Legend Ink in Potrero Hill to develop this archival initiative. Rather than recreating or reinterpreting designs, the museum project focuses on the post-mortem preservation of actual skin, utilizing methods similar to those used in anatomical exhibits to maintain the original work as a permanent artifact.
