The residence at nine hundred forty-nine Lombard Street is marked by a plain, multi-unit building structure that looks quite different today than it did during the summer of nineteen ninety-four. Located just one block east of the famous switchbacks of Lombard Street, this site served as the primary set for the third season of the television program The Real World. Production crews renovated the third and fourth floors of the property to house seven strangers who were filmed for several months as their personal lives and interpersonal conflicts unfolded under the constant observation of MTV cameras.
