Hearst Grizzly Gulch is an expansive, one-acre habitat featuring thick glass viewing windows that place observers within feet of the resident grizzly bears. Designed to replicate a natural environment, the space contains a twenty-thousand-gallon pool, a mountain-style waterfall, heated rocks, and a grassy meadow. It opened in June two thousand seven as a sanctuary for two sisters, Kachina and Kiona.
