Centennial Olympic Park is a twenty-one-acre expanse of flat green lawns and deep orange-red brick walkways, tucked into a basin of towering downtown skyscrapers. It was created for the nineteen ninety-six Summer Olympic Games, replacing a patchwork of parking lots and abandoned industrial buildings with a central gathering space.
