Fraunces Tavern

Fraunces Tavern is identifiable by the small, yellow bricks that form its exterior walls, a distinct feature dating back to the building's construction in seventeen nineteen. Originally built as a private residence for Étienne De Lancey, it was converted into a tavern in seventeen sixty-two by Samuel Fraunces. The building holds the distinction of being the oldest surviving structure in Manhattan.
