Vera Katz Eastbank Esplanade

The Vera Katz Eastbank Esplanade is a one and a half mile long pedestrian and bicycle path that stretches along the east shore of the Willamette River. It is defined by a twelve hundred foot long floating walkway, which rises and falls with the river and provides the sensation of walking directly on the water. This path connects the Hawthorne Bridge to the Steel Bridge and was created to transform a once industrial, derelict riverfront into a public space.
