The Meier & Frank Building

The Meier and Frank Building occupies an entire city block, defined by its fifteen stories of white, glazed terra cotta tiles. Architect Alfred E. Doyle designed the structure, which was built in three distinct stages between nineteen oh nine and nineteen thirty-two. It rose to prominence as the flagship store for a legendary retail chain and became a downtown fixture where Portlanders famously arranged to "meet me under the clock".
