Portland Art Museum

The Portland Art Museum is defined by its campus of landmark buildings, including the modernist Belluschi Building and the former Masonic Temple known as the Mark Building. It stands as the oldest art museum in the Pacific Northwest, founded in eighteen ninety-two by seven local business and cultural leaders who formed the Portland Art Association. They intended to create a first-class institution for the city, starting with a collection of one hundred plaster casts of Greek and Roman sculptures purchased with a ten thousand dollar gift from Henry Corbett.
