The Old Church Concert Hall is the oldest church building in downtown Portland still standing on its original site. You can recognize it by its Carpenter Gothic architecture, a nineteenth-century style that interprets traditional Gothic forms in wood rather than stone. Built in eighteen eighty-two, the structure features cathedral-style windows, ornate window traceries, and a distinct porte-cochere on its west side, which once sheltered parishioners arriving by horse and carriage.
