The silvery storefront of Isgro Pastries sits on Christian Street, where the scent of butter often drifts onto the sidewalk. Since nineteen oh four, this bakery has operated from this same rowhome-sized building in the Italian Market. Sicilian immigrant Mario Isgro opened the shop after studying his craft in Vienna, and it has remained a family-run business for over a century.
