The President's House Site sits on a prominent corner near the Liberty Bell, identifiable by a steel and glass structure that frames the exposed foundation remnants of the mansion where George Washington and John Adams lived from seventeen ninety to eighteen hundred. While this served as the first executive mansion of the United States, it also functioned as a site of forced labor, housing nine enslaved people brought by Washington from his estate at Mount Vernon.
