Christ Church

Christ Church is defined by its soaring, one hundred ninety-six foot tall white steeple, which rises above the surrounding brick architecture of Olde City. Founded in sixteen ninety-five, the church served as the first parish of the Church of England in Pennsylvania. The current Georgian structure was completed in seventeen forty-four, with the iconic steeple added a decade later in seventeen fifty-four. For fifty-six years, that tower made this the tallest building in North America.
