Repo Records sits at five hundred six South Street, marked by a storefront that has anchored this block of the city for decades. Dan Matherson opened the original shop in nineteen eighty-six in the suburb of Wayne, eventually moving the business to South Street in nineteen ninety-eight. He chose the name after the nineteen eighty-four film Repo Man, drawn to the movie for its gritty, hardcore punk soundtrack.
