The Tennessee World War II Memorial is anchored by an eight-ton solid granite globe that rests on a thin cushion of water. Engraved with the map of the world as it appeared during the nineteen forties, the globe rotates in all directions and is marked with lines stretching from Tennessee to the global conflict zones where soldiers fought.
