2nd Avenue Historic District

The Second Avenue Historic District is defined by its collection of three- and four-story buildings in the Victorian Italianate style, marked by arched windows and elaborate cornices. Running between Broadway and Brandon Street, these structures date primarily from the eighteen seventies and eighteen eighties. Originally known as Market Street, the corridor functioned as a commercial engine for Nashville because of its direct proximity to the Cumberland River.
