Hatch Show Print is identified by the bold, hand-carved wood type and vivid letterpress ink that define its posters. Founded in eighteen seventy-nine by brothers Charles and Herbert Hatch, the shop began by producing handbills for local lectures and tent revivals. Its first commission announced a speaking engagement by the preacher Henry Ward Beecher.
