John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge

The John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge spans the Cumberland River with a distinctive truss design that features, at intervals, four scenic overlooks. Originally constructed between nineteen oh seven and nineteen oh nine as the Sparkman Street Bridge, it was the first in North America to use concrete arched trusses. Its engineer, Howard M. Jones, designed the structure to link downtown Nashville with the eastern bank of the city.
