Hume-Fogg Academic High School

Hume-Fogg Academic High School is defined by its massive, stone-clad facade and two prominent octagonal towers that give the building the appearance of a medieval European castle. Built in nineteen twelve, this Collegiate Gothic structure sits at seven hundred Broadway, occupying the site of Nashville’s very first public school. The exterior is marked by intricate stonework and parapets that loom over the downtown street, hiding a basement once connected to a network of tunnels beneath the city that have long since been sealed off.
