Nashville Metropolitan Courthouse

The Metropolitan Courthouse is identified by a row of colossal Doric columns sheathed in light beige Indiana limestone, standing prominently above the Cumberland River. Completed in nineteen thirty-seven, the building was designed by New York architect Frederic Hirons and Nashville architect Emmons Woolwine. It occupies the public square and houses both the city government and the local courts.
