The Bullock Texas State History Museum is identified by a thirty-five-foot tall bronze sculpture of a lone star on the plaza outside its entrance. The building was the final major project for Bob Bullock, who served as the thirty-eighth Lieutenant Governor of Texas. Bullock began advocating for a state history museum in nineteen ninety-five, envisioning a site that would serve as a formal gateway to the Capitol complex.
