The Littlefield Building stands at the corner of Congress Avenue and Sixth Street, defined by its nine-story steel frame and ornate Beaux-Arts facade. When it opened in nineteen twelve, this structure introduced the skyscraper to Austin, serving as the headquarters for cattle baron and banker George Washington Littlefield. Its exterior features classical ornamentation, and for nearly two decades, it held the title of the tallest commercial building in the city.
