The National Wine Centre of Australia is defined by its distinctively curved, vat-like architecture and walls of rammed earth, timber, and glass. Situated at the eastern end of North Terrace, the building was designed by the firm Cox Grieve Gillett to evoke the experience of moving through a winery, with materials shifting from coarse and robust to fine and smooth as one progresses inside. Rows of grapevines grow immediately outside, showcasing seven different varieties to visitors.
